Below is the line following course that Frank Elia has been working on.
Decided on using 24"x24" interlocking squares from Rick Bickle
Straight lines made from 11" or 5 1/2" segments cut from edge of page (8 1/2 x 11 white card stock). Curves are made from arcs subtending 90 degrees (approx.) of circle where curve inside radius is 6".
Lines glued with photo adhesive to foam backing. Easily lifted and changed..
Line thickness is approx 1" (varies pretty much less than +/- 0.100")

Goal is to have course free of wrinkles and without discontinuities introduced by laying tape.
